With Rachel back in Bayview on Days of Our Lives, one thing has become horrifyingly clear: Kristen is ready to tear the world down around her. She wants revenge on Marlena, she’s forced an alliance with Sophia, she’s plotting to decimate EJ and Johnny and she’s moved out of Brady’s, screaming that she never wants to see his face again.
We know that won’t happen, since they share custody of Rachel and spoilers already have the two fighting over their daughter’s wellbeing on Wednesday. But as far as Stacy Haiduk is concerned, it sounds like Kristen may actually, truly be done with Brady.
“I think she’s just tired,” Haiduk tells Soaps.com. “She’s tired of feeling this push me, pull me thing with him, and she’s just like, ‘Do whatever you want to do.'”
And on top of that, “I think she realizes that he’s been very, very cruel to her. She still has a love for him. I think there will always be that love.” But for the two to ever get back together, let alone work, Haiduk says, “Brady and Kristen have a lot of work to do on each other. I’m talking about mentally, because I don’t think he’s at all kind.”
Now, fans could argue that Kristen goes a bit beyond “not kind,” since while Brady’s intent on tossing Sophia into prison, Rachel’s mom is forcing the teen to help her destroy EJ. And yes, that may even mean a murder or two. (Though we have a feeling she’s just teasing that to keep Sophia terrified and in line.)
But for all of that, Haiduk insists, speaking as Kristen, “I know they paint the picture that I’m the bad one, but you know Brady’s not always been a good guy either.” Kristen “wants to get on with her life, but she wants to be a part of her daughter’s life. They just happen to have the kid together.”
Plotting to destroy her brother and nephew don’t exactly seem the most constructive ways to be a part of Rachel’s life but let’s not split hairs. And when this is all over? If Kristen doesn’t end up back in prison, there could be a ray of light in her life, beyond just her love for her daughter.
“I think Kristen deserves some fun,” Haiduk suggests. And no, not the kind that Kristen and Alex had with their oh-so-brief fling. The actress is talking about the kind of fun that brings out the best in someone. “It’s so hard for [Kristen’s] soft side to come out,” she says. “And if someone would just give that to her she might be able to give it back. I think it would be wonderful. I would love that.”
Well, finding a relationship that isn’t toxic does tend to work wonders for the soul! But unless and until that happens, we might suggest that everyone who’s ticked Kristen off stay out of her way. And yes, that may even include Brady.
