Just in case you were feeling emotional early Sunday morning, here it is: SEAL Team is officially ending production after seven seasons.
In a new Instagram post, star and executive producer David Boreanaz confirmed that filming has wrapped, sharing a simple “thank you Jason Hayes” message. Production is wrapping up in Colombia, after a long stint at the show’s Los Angeles headquarters. This is a show that has had quite the journey, starting on CBS, surviving the move to Paramount+, and even enduring Max Thieriot’s departure, leading to him in Fire Country. A lot has happened, and now, they’ve come to the end of what is sure to be an emotional story.
As for how the show will end, all we can say right now is that it’s too early to tell. At the end of season 6, we saw that Bravo’s future was in serious jeopardy — something that will likely be addressed early in season 7, as will any future missions. It’s likely that we’re setting ourselves up for Jason and the team’s final battle, and we hope that they all move on to meaningful things in the future.
While the SEAL Team stories are pretty awesome, we also have to give them credit for all they’ve done to shine a light on issues that matter to those in active duty — and veterans back home. There haven’t been many other shows out there that have taken on this mission over the years, and we’ll miss having these characters to tell some of these stories.
