Could Gerry Turner Be The Golden Bachelor A Second Time? (I Think That Would Be A Bad Idea)

There may be a possibility that the first The Golden Bachelor lead, Gerry Turner, could be the lead for a second time, but I think that would be a bad idea for the franchise. I watched every episode of The Golden Bachelor season 1 as it came out, and have expert knowledge of all the drama that happened during and after the season. Gerry began the eight-ten-week Golden Bachelor process in August 2023. 22 senior women showed up at the Los Angeles Bachelor mansion to compete for Gerry’s heart.

Gerry narrowed down his final three to Leslie Fhima, Faith Martin, and Theresa Nist. He went on hometown dates with all of them and told Leslie and Faith that he loved them, however, he chose Leslie and Theresa for overnight dates in Costa Rica. In the end, Gerry broke Leslie’s heart after leading her on and decided to propose to Theresa. The pair had a whirlwind marriage on January 4, 2024, only to announce their divorce in April 2024. While Gerry may have been a great lead choice on the surface, I’m certain he’s problematic and shouldn’t be cast again.

Gerry Was An Amazing The Golden Bachelor Lead
He Charmed Viewers

Gerry presented as the perfect The Golden Bachelor lead to me and most fans of the show. He was charming, empathetic, funny, and relatable. He took the time to get to know the women and have genuine and connective conversations with them. He was very respectful and kind when he sent women home and gave heartfelt answers about his decisions. Gerry’s family was just as charismatic as he was, and The Golden Bachelor viewers were smitten with Gerry up until he broke Leslie’s heart.

It’s Unlikely Gerry Could Be The Golden Bachelor Lead Again
That’s Rarely Happened In Bachelor History

Only one Bachelor, Brad Womack, has ever come back for a second season, and that was because he rejected his final two.

That means it’s not out of the question for Gerry to reprise his role as The Golden Bachelor once again, but it does seem unlikely since his credibility over the divorce has dwindled.

The Bachelor premise has to historically choose a popular person from previous seasons to come on as the lead, just like Joan Vassos is doing in The Golden Bachelorette season 1.

Gerry Has Proven He’s Not Serious About Marriage
Gerry Gave Up Easily

Gerry tarnished his good-guy reputation by blindsiding Leslie with the breakup in Costa Rica. Moreover, I feel that his divorce from the alleged woman he couldn’t live without made him seem inauthentic (via Good Morning America.) Gerry feigned like he was serious about settling down and compromising for the woman he loved, but that has proved to be untrue after his run on The Golden Bachelor since he gave up so easily. I know casting Gerry as the lead again in the franchise would be a mistake because he’s proven he’s not actually sincere.
