  • The Y&R alum talked about his version of Chad at DAYS 60th anniversary.
  • Floyd reveals why he loves Chad.

The Same But Different

It’s no secret that a Chad (now Flynn) switch-up is coming. After all, Flynn has been playing Cane Ashby on The Young and the Restless since June. Around the same time, as Flynn debuted on Y&R, news broke that Floyd was taking over the role of Chad. This led to Chance’s (Floyd) death on the hit CBS soap.

Now, as Flynn’s exit nears in early 2026, Floyd is getting fans hyped for his debut in April 2026. Granted, it’s still months away, but Floyd has been filming since this summer due to the DAYS’ advanced schedule, so he has some teasers.

Speaking with E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi at the DAYS 60th anniversary party, Floyd spilled some tea on his Chad. Floyd confirmed fans can expect, saying, “a lot of drama, obviously.”

The actor also explained that Chad will walk a tightrope between being a goody-goody Horton and channeling his inner DiMera. It’s that tightrope that makes Floyd love playing Chad.

“What I love about Chad is he kind of walks that line of DiMera and Horton. You know, he’s going to walk it from time to time. He doesn’t want to be DiMera. He wants to be a Horton, but the DiMera just kind of claws at him. So, expect that little tight rope,” Floyd expressed.

Soap Hub met up with Floyd on the Daytime Emmys red carpet, where he revealed how the advanced filming schedule over at DAYS has changed his acting process. Y&R filmed a few weeks in advance, but DAYS filmed 10 months in advance, and that was something that Floyd had to adjust to at his new gig.
