Cole Hauser Worried About Losing “Yellowstone” Audience Amid Prolonged Hiatus
Between the writers strike and the ongoing actors strike and the show’s seemingly indefinite hiatus, Cole Hauser was worried that audiences might lose interest in Yellowstone before its highly anticipated season five conclusion.
Fortunately, those fears have proven to be unfounded.
Hauser recently spoke to Esquire about his new business venture—a coffee brand called Free Rein—and how the unwavering support of Yellowstone fans has gotten him through the uncertainty of these last months.
“I was worried that we might lose our audience before season five, but it was quite the opposite,” the man who plays the iconic Rip Wheeler told the publication. “The fanbase truly loves not just my character, but everyone. It’s pretty special to know that people care that much. That’s certainly what you do it for. Now, going on this press tour, it really means a lot that they love this coffee, too. It’s an honor.”
In May, after months of rumors and rampant speculation, Yellowstone producers confirmed that the hit series would conclude with the second half of season five. Paramount initially announced the second half of Yellowstone’s fifth and final season would land over the summer, but scheduling disputes between Costner and producers ultimately pushed the date back to November. It’s unclear how the strikes have affected those plans.
It’s now expected that the final episodes of season five of Yellowstone will air sometime in 2024 though that has yet to be confirmed.
