Clarkson’s Farm’s Lisa Hogan likes post saying Amazon had ‘tail between their legs’ to not cancel Jeremy
Lisa Hogan appears to have taken a cheeky dig at Amazon after it decided to – eventually – ignore cancel culture moaners and keep Clarkson’s Farm afloat.
The farming series, which has series three and four in the pipeline, found its future hanging in the balance last year after front-man Jeremy Clarkson’s comments about Meghan Markle. In December 2022, Clarkson had stated in a column for The Sun that he “hated” the Duchess of Sussex on a “cellular level” and that he dreamt about the day she was paraded through streets and pelted with excrement.
What followed was over 25,000 complaints to IPSO [Independent Press Standard Organisation] about the article, a public and private apology from Clarkson and report after report that Amazon had decided to cut ties.
By January 2023, sources told Variety that Amazon wouldn’t be working with Clarkson beyond the pre-planned third season of Clarkson’s Farm as well as the remaining The Grand Tour specials, and doubts continued all the way to September when Prime Video UK Head of Originals Dan Grabiner announced “no decision” had been made on a fourth run.
Now, all doubt has been put to bed after Clarkson shared the “important announcement” that a fourth run had been greenlit and with season three premiering in May, filming has already begun on the next instalment – which Hogan was keen to share with her social media followers.Taking to Instagram this week, Hogan shared a short video inside Clarkson’s office at Diddly Squat where she confirmed shooting for season four had begun.
Inevitably, fans flocked to the comments to share their excitement at the prospect of another series from Diddly Squat coming their way beyond the third run.
However, one comment in particular appears to have caught Hogan’s eye – and it didn’t mince its words about Amazon’s decision to keep Clarkson on its books.
“Yes,” the excited Instagram user penned. “So glad Prime put their tail between their legs and listened to the public. Can’t wait for season 3 and to go to Diddly Squat Farm in April.”The comment garnered over 140 likes but arguably most telling was one from Clarkson’s Farm’s very own Hogan.
Hogan features in every episode of Clarkson’s Farm and helps her other half run the Oxfordshire farm.
The critical user wasn’t the only one who took to the comments of Hogan’s latest update to express their joy.
A second weighed in: “3rd season hasn’t aired yet, but I’m already looking forward to 4th season of one of the best TV show EVER!””Can we get a Season 5,6,7,8,9 and 10?” a third queried – another comment which bagged a like off of Hogan.
Before Clarkson and the Diddly Squat family are back on screens in season three, however, he’ll soon be available to watch alongside Richard Hammond and James May in the latest Grand Tour special.
Amazon dropped a new trailer for Sand Job earlier this week which shows the trio race their way across Mauritania.
The three have one more special in the pipeline before they call time on their tenure as motoring TV’s poster boys.
