Chock Chapple, fresh off his engagement to Joan Vassos on The Golden Bachelorette, is already looking ahead to the future of the show — and he has a strong opinion on who should be the next senior bachelor.
With The Golden Bachelorette finale wrapping up just a week ago, Chapple and Vassos are enjoying their new status as an engaged couple after months of keeping their relationship under wraps. As they plan their first holiday season together in New York City, Chapple is also ready to share his thoughts on who deserves a shot at finding love in the next season of The Golden Bachelor.
Bachelor Nation fans have been buzzing with speculation about which of Vassos’ eliminated suitors might be chosen as the next leading man. Some believe Guy Gansert, the emotional runner-up, deserves another chance. Others have been rallying for Charles Ling, who quickly became a fan favorite. Mark Anderson and Jonathan Rone were also in the mix until they announced they’d found love off-camera.
While Joan Vassos opted to stay neutral, saying she couldn’t pick just one of her former suitors, Chapple had no such hesitation during a recent interview with Variety. He shared his thoughts candidly, although he first acknowledged the challenge of choosing just one.
“There are at least eight great guys who could easily take on the role,” Chapple said. “I’m not avoiding the question — it’s just that they all have such unique personalities. Any of them, from Charles Ling to Jordan, Keith, Dan, or Jack, could do a fantastic job.”
After a bit of friendly stalling, Chapple finally revealed his top choice: Charles Ling. However, he added a humorous twist to his endorsement.
“I’ve already endorsed Charles to run for president in 2028, so it’s either he becomes the next Golden Bachelor, or he runs for office!” Chapple joked.
Chapple praised Ling’s character, explaining why he believes Charles would be a great fit for the franchise. “Charles is such a warm and loving person,” he said. “He’s someone who would genuinely care about the women vying for his heart. Plus, everyone in the cast and crew adores him.”
