You might have noticed one key face missing from Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 20 – and that’s because they popped up in this week’s Chicago Fire instead.
Thanks to NBC’s One Chicago trilogy, we’ve got Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago PD on the go all at once. While each is on a different season, their number of episodes matches up, airing one after the other on Wednesday nights.
This also means that if you invest in the binge-worthy TV shows for long enough, you’ll likely see some crossover. With all three shows taking place in the same timeline, characters can move about freely from one show to another.
Unexpectedly, that happened last night. A favorite face was missing from Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 20 and ended up in Chicago Fire instead. But why?
Asher swapped Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 20 for Chicago Fire
According to Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 20, Asher apparently called in sick to work, but instead guest-starred in Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 20.
Titled ‘Cut Me Open,’ she crossed paths with Firehouse 51’s Kelly Severide and Stella Kidd after they visited Gaffney to bond with the mother of a baby they hope to adopt, acting as their official OBGYN.
Taking to Instagram, actor Jessy Schram wrote, “I’m lucky enough to skip on over to #ChicagoFire for TONIGHT’s episode and join a storyline that is one to write home about. No joke @mrmayo and @taylorkinney111 in this ep… our guest stars. What an honor working with these actors and crew and getting to practice Dr Asher (Schram)’s work on another set.”
Don’t panic, though – none of this changes the run-up to the Chicago Med finale. Asher will be returning for the penultimate episode, with Goodwin informing staff of Asher’s absence at the very beginning of the episode. Many other nurses called out, leaving Gaffney’s E.D. in crucial conditions without its usual manpower.
While this week’s episode is delayed, no further interruptions to the weekly release schedule are expected. The season finale is currently scheduled to air on May 21, 2025.
