Chicago Fire star Taylor Kinney has married Ashley Cruger after two years of dating.
The star, who plays Lieutenant Kelly Severide on the NBC show, tied the knot with the model last month in a ceremony in Chicago, with a representative for Kinney confirming the news to PEOPLE.
The ceremony, which took place on April 30, was reported to be “small and private”, with neither Kinney nor Cruger commenting on their big day via social media so far.
Kinney returned to Chicago Fire last year after a period of absence, with the star returning for the 12th season in January. The season is due to end next week (May 22), though it will return in the future as a 13th season has already been ordered.
Kinney won’t be joined by Eamonn Walker, with the star leaving his role as Chief Wallace Boden in next week’s finale. This follows the departures of Rome Flynn and Kara Killmer, with the pair exiting their roles of Derrick Gibson and Sylvie Brett respectively.
“I sort of love that she [Sylvie] started her journey [when] she was dumped at the altar by her high school boyfriend and runs off to Chicago to start over again,” said Killmer of her exit, which occurred earlier in the 12th season.
“I love that she ends up across the aisle from the love of her life and, obviously, the most eligible bachelor in all of Chicago and Portland. It’s just so satisfying to get to see her have everything that she always wanted and to see the kind of woman [and] paramedic she’s become.
“She’s really stepped into her own, and so, this is a natural conclusion for her. It’s definitely been so humbling and aspirational to be playing a first responder for this long. I couldn’t be happier to have been in this story space, getting to work with real firefighters and paramedics this long.”
