Chicago Fire continually switches up dynamics to send the narrative in different directions than viewers anticipate.
That’s why we’ve enjoyed the show for over a decade, and honestly, we’ll watch until the wheels come off.
Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 12 gave some much-needed insight into Kidd’s past when her cousin stopped by the Windy City to have a go at Severide about him taking her away from her family.
It was quite a shock, considering we know Severide as this supportive partner to Kidd.
Thankfully, that was resolved quickly, and the hour concluded with Kidd and Severide agreeing that they could expand their family through adoption.
It was pivotal for their relationship and highlighted why they work so well together.
They’re always up for a challenge, and there are many storylines to be mined from such a development.
When the action picks back up on Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 13, Kidd is on a high after “a daring rescue at an adventure park.”
She turns to Severide to ask him to “create a ropes course for Girls on Fire.”
This storyline ensures we have more Stellaride scenes on the horizon, which isn’t bad because they have so much chemistry.
Stellaride is the Best Part of Chicago Fire
At this moment in time, their storylines are the most interesting aspect of Chicago Fire, but that isn’t to say the rest of the show sucks in comparison.
There’s so much going on.
The sure-to-be dramatic hour also includes Violet getting a blast from the past when a “former nemesis” shows up in Chicago.
Even worse, the mysterious individual is pleading for Violet’s help.
Details are scarce about what this could be about, but hey, it should be interesting seeing Violet try through gritted teeth to help someone who wronged her.
Will there be an initial period when Violet declines to help this person? Of course, because this is TV, and these shows like to spoon-feed developments.
Violet Has a Big Decision to Make
Violet will likely seek counsel from her peers about whether she should help someone who negatively impacted her life.
Will Violet realize that helping this person is the key to putting that part of her life in the rear-view mirror? The story practically writes itself.
It wouldn’t be an episode of Chicago Fire without a trip to Molly’s, and boy, things are sure to kick into high gear this time.
Herrmann has been busy with the Firehouse, exams, and everything in between, so he’ll take some much-needed respite to help Molly continue growing.
The bar has been this fantastic hub across Chicago Fire, Chicago Med, and Chicago P.D., so it’s always nice to delve back into the location.
Herrmann “creates a signature cocktail for Molly’s” during this episode.
Given the stiff competition in Chicago, the cocktail must stand out from the other offerings.
How will Herrmann come up with the right idea, exactly? We’re thinking of taste tests that may lead to some One Chicago mini-crossovers.
Can We Have Less Breaks Between Episodes?
Last month, all three shows crossed over for the first time in five years for an explosive three-hour event that left many lives on the line.
Thankfully, all of the principal characters made it out alive and saved many lives in the process.
You’d think after so many hiatuses this season, the remainder of the episodes would air uninterrupted, but Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 13 won’t air until Wednesday, February 13, at 9/8c.
With broadcast networks struggling for viewers, the best foot forward would be to air shows without these random breaks because they kill momentum.
All we can do is speculate. The official teaser doesn’t give much away beyond a tease of a young woman choking at a climbing center.
Take a look below.
It’s pretty grim, right?
The scared expressions of the rest of the firefighters suggest that this isn’t something they face very often on the job.
What are your thoughts on the upcoming storylines, Chicago Fire Fanatics? Are you excited for what’s coming up?
