Out of the blue, Chicago Fire is teasing another big death, and I have a good idea about the identity of the show’s next casualty. As with all One Chicago shows, the people at Firehouse 51 risk their lives to make sure that they can serve others. Throughout its run on NBC, the series has seen all kinds of deaths — from slow ones to absolute shockers. In some instances, the squad themselves have experienced these losses through family members and co-workers. It has been a while since Chicago Fire had a significant death, but that is about to change.
The 2025 One Chicago crossover was the perfect opportunity to pull off a major Firehouse 51 death. It would fuel not just Captain Dom Pascal’s team but also Intelligence and Gaffney as they grieve one of their own. While Chicago Fire would be an uncomfortable watch if it skips these kinds of tragedies, especially when its characters are concerned, that would cheapen the show. If anything, these heartbreaking moments are what, I think, make it so compelling. As Firehouse 51 continues its work, they will find themselves dealing with another loss, as hinted in the new trailer for next week.
Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 15 Trailer Teases A Major Death
Firehouse 51 Is Looking At Another Loss
Ahead of its next episode, NBC has released a new trailer for Chicago Fire season 13, episode 15, which clearly states that a character will not make it out alive. To be fair. I think almost every other teaser for the show hints at some kind of tragedy for Firehouse 51, but it seems like an actual death is on the horizon for the team. Because we have seen all kinds of deaths in Chicago Fire in the past, it makes it a little bit trickier to predict who will actually bite the bullet.
It doesn’t help that the brief clip teases 3 separate incidents that could lead to lives lost. The trailer opens with a tear-eyed Violet meetig a stunned Pascal, and it follows Jack Damon, Benny Severide’s secret son, in a particularly dangerous mission. Finally, Stella Kidd runs to save a bystander, only for the call to become far more complicated than initially perceived. At this point, it’s safe to say that Kelly Severide’s wife is safe, but that’s still several possible options. Luckily, there’s one clear best candidate for this tragedy, and I’m pretty sure I know who it is.
Chief Pascal’s Wife Is Likely The Big Death In Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 15
Monica Pascal Has Been Barely Used In Chicago Fire Season 13, But She’s Important In Its Story
Among anyone who is suspected to die in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 5, I am convinced that it is going to be Monica Pascal — the wife of Chief Dom. The character hasn’t really had any major screen time in One Chicago aside from her ties to her husband, but we all know that the pair’s history in Miami is a mystery that has been brewing in the background throughout the whole year. Monica’s possible death can kickstart the exploration of said storyline.
In terms of why Violet seems so distraught about the death when she doesn’t even have any kind of relationship with Chief Pascal, let alone his wife, it’s worth remembering that Ambo 61’s PIC knows what it’s like to unexpectedly lose a partner when Evan Hawkins died in a freak accident during a call. Seeing her boss go through a similar tragedy is something that Violet can sympathize with.
As for Damon, he’s a good recurring character that could still prove to be beneficial to Kelly’s story, so there’s no need to write him out.
Overall, Pascal’s wife is the most logical casualty in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 15. Considering all the exits in One Chicago in the last several years, particularly in Firehouse 51, I’m not sure that NBC and Wolf Entertainment would be willing to shake up the ensemble again. As for Damon, he’s a good recurring character that could still prove to be beneficial to Kelly’s story, so there’s no need to write him out.
What Pascal’s Wife’s Death Can Change Chicago Fire Season 13’s Story
It’s Time We Know More About Chief Pascal
Monica Pascal dying in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 15 will shift the storytelling of the show moving forward. Aside from brief interactions and some set-up through conversations, we haven’t really seen Chief Pascal at the center of the procedural’s storytelling. Even in this week’s episode, he is absent. Now, it’s likely that we’ll learn everything that is to know about Chief Boden’s replacement. This only make sense, considering that we are approaching the tail end of the year, and it would be disappointing if we move on to a new season without fully understanding Firehouse 51’s new leader.
