Chicago Fire’s Eamonn Walker Says Goodbye in On-Set Video: ‘Best Job of My Life’

Eamonn Walker’s farewell to Chicago Fire appears to be nothing but amicable in a new behind-the-scenes video of Walker’s final day on set.

In an Instagram video shared by NBC and Wolf Entertainment on Thursday, the Chicago Fire cast and crew applauded Walker as he wrapped production on the long-running drama series.

Walker’s departure from his role as a main cast member of Chicago Fire was first reported in early May, though the reason for his departure was not made clear. In Wednesday’s Season 12 finale (spoiler alert!), Boden — who has been M.I.A. in recent episodes — returned to the Windy City and ran for Deputy Commissioner of the Chicago Fire Department, which he later won. (Read our full recap of the final episode here.) But Walker says he’s not gone forever: According to our affiliate site Deadline, the actor is expected to appear as a series regular in the future. Chicago Fire was previously renewed for a 13th season, which will air on NBC this fall in its regular Wednesday 9 p.m. time slot.
