Chicago Fire Season 13, Episode 6 “Birds of Prey” introduces a storyline for both Pascal and Severide that will put their families in danger rather than the latter. Or at least, that’s what the preview for Episode 7 promises. In Episode 6, Pascal runs into a State Police Chief who’s definitely a dirty bastard and takes it upon himself to find evidence against him, while pretending he’s dirty, too.
It’s a good idea in theory, but Pascal doesn’t trust one thing: Kelly Severide. It all starts on a fire call, when Severide and the Squad stay behind to try to figure out how the fire started. They’re soon chased away by the State Police, and Pascal pretends to be playing ball with them. In fact, he’s so good at pretending that Severide latches onto him.

What he finds is enough information to confront Pascal, who seems to genuinely appreciate Severide for doing the right thing. But when Pascal warns Severide to stay away and let him keep doing what he’s doing, Severide tells him he’s getting involved.
If the preview for the next episode is to be believed, it’s going to spell trouble for both of them. Both Pascal’s wife and Stella make appearances in the episode, with Pascal saying “He’s trying to intimidate us, let us know he can get to the people we love.” That means Bishop has been tracking them somehow, and they’ll need to get the evidence they need to catch him quickly before something happens to Monica or Stella.
The tagline for Chicago Fire Episode 7 “Untouchable” promises the two will “revisit the storage facility fire in hopes of uncovering new evidence,” which is a promising start, especially given Pascal’s claims in the promo, with one saying that “it’s nearly impossible to prove arson,” with “not because of him” referring to Severide. But even if he can prove arson, can he convict Bishop? And if he can, can he do it in a way that leaves Bishop gone forever?
More: What the Former Chicago Fire Cast Looked Like Then and Now Probably yes, since it’s a TV show, but the storyline fits the show, especially with what the show wants to build with Pascal. Right now, Pascal doesn’t fit in at Firehouse 51, not really. He’s a decent Sheriff, and not everyone hates him, but no one really likes him either. No one’s going to protect him. And part of that is because no one knows him well, but there’s also the fact that he doesn’t really volunteer for anything.
If he gets Severide to trust him, that’s a step forward for Pascal. And working on this case together could get them both there. It could also cause a lot of trouble for both of them and their families. But if there’s a show that likes to play with fire, it’s this one.
