Chicago Fire Season 13 Star Reunites With Eammon Walker, Sparking Boden Return Theory
Theories of Wallace Boden’s return are gaining traction after Eammon Walker reunited with a Chicago Fire season 13 star. Season 12 saw a series of losses for Firehouse 51. Longtime cast members Blake Gallo and Sylvie Brett left for personal reasons, while newcomer Derrick Gibson left due to a sudden realization. However, there’s no denying that the show’s biggest departure so far has been Boden. The longtime Firehouse 51 team leader has officially left his team to take on a much larger role within the Chicago Fire Department, which is at least a good thing.

Violet actor Hanako Greensmith shared an image of Walker on her Instagram Stories, sparking theories that Chicago Fire season 13 will bring back the beloved leader of Firehouse 51. Check out the image below: In the photo, Walker is wearing casual clothes and doesn’t appear to have been taken near the time of Chicago Fire season 13 filming. However, his reunion with Greensmith could signal Boden’s return to One Chicago.
The way Boden’s departure from Chicago Fire occurred leaves the door open for his return. Unlike permanent departures like character deaths, the former Firehouse 51 leader has no plans to move out of the Windy City. Instead, he’ll just be staying at the CFD’s main base, given his recent election victory. When Walker’s departure was also announced, it was also reported that Boden would occasionally return to see what his old team was up to, which makes the spinoff theories not unfounded.

Bringing Walker back for the new season would also make sense after plans to replace him in Chicago Fire season 13 fell through. Narratively, there’s nothing stopping Chicago Fire season 13 from bringing Boden back. As mentioned earlier, he and his former team are still part of the same government agency, which means they’re technically still working under the same team. Bringing Walker back for the new season would also make sense after plans to replace him fell through in season 13. It’s worth remembering that Boden personally selected Christopher Hermann as the next leader of Firehouse 51, but that won’t happen with the arrival of Dom Pascal. Walker was the first actor cast in Dick Wolf’s One Chicago Universe. Admittedly, it’s going to take some getting used to without him around Firehouse 51. Dermot Mulroney had a lot of work to do to replace such a beloved actor and character in Chicago Fire season 13. At the very least, Boden got the promotion he long deserved in his swan song storyline.
