Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 8: Will Herrmann Become the New Sheriff?

Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 8: Will Herrmann Become the New Sheriff?

Wednesday night marked the fall finale for Chicago Fire season 13, and with it came a pretty big debate. What’s going to happen when it comes to the boss of Firehouse 51?

Well, it’s safe to say that things are complicated right now. Technically, Dom Pascal is in charge, but is he actually in charge? That’s a really tough question to answer when there are so many different variables to factor in, including the fact that Herrmann is looking to move up. We know that’s what Boden wanted from him, and now the opportunity has come.

So, is Herrmann ready for the opportunity? Speaking to TVLine, here’s at least some of what David Eigenberg had to say about it: “When you take on a promotion to an officer, you’re away from actual fires, but you’re also responsible for people’s lives… It’s hard to worry about being responsible for people and also being away from your old life. And I think Hermann is ready for that, and we’ll see how that plays out moving forward.”

The tricky thing here, of course, is that Dermot Mulroney was fantastic on Chicago Fire, and if Herrmann gets that job, what does that mean for his role? It’s a great question, but at the same time, we’ve also compared his process so far to seeing James Spader on The Office. It never felt like he was going to have that job forever, so you just have to accept the change of pace almost like a bridge.

We should also go ahead and note that we’re personally still waiting to see Eamonn Walker return to the screen as Boden. We know that when he left earlier this year, there were rumors that he might show up at some point. It’s just that that hasn’t happened yet.
