Sylvie Brett’s Firehouse 51 is officially introduced in a new Chicago Fire season 12 image. Kara Killmer has officially exited the series, which was set up in her engagement with Matt Casey in the Chicago Fire season 11 finale. Her departure from Chief Boden’s tight-knit team has been difficult, especially for people with whom she had worked closely in the last decade. Still, Firehouse 51 must continue, and one way to do that is to debut Killmer’s replacement.
Recently, NBC released a new image for Chicago Fire season 12, episode 8, “All The Dark,” which introduces Wesam Keesh as Jared Lennox — the newest Firehouse 51 paramedic. As seen in the promotional still below, he is working closely with Violet Mikami who is now the Paramedic In Charge. Wessam was previously in Law & Order: Organized Crime, Chicago Justice, and even Chicago Fire playing different characters. Check the photo below:
What To Expect From Brett’s Chicago Fire Replacement
Not much is known about Lennox at this point, but it isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he won’t get along with Violet, at least initially.
One Chicago and any other long-running show are no strangers to reshuffling cast members. Chicago Fire has seen its fair share of this since Brett is somewhat a replacement for Firehouse 51’s paramedic branch. However, the difficulty of finding a successor is that she has been in the first-responder procedural for quite a while now. She may have gotten her happily-ever-after when Brett married Casey in Chicago Fire season 12, episode 6, but her marriage prompts her to leave her friends behind, including Violet.
Brett’s exit from Chicago Fire results in Violet’s promotion in season 12, which is well-earned. Her new position also puts her in a precarious position, especially after she and the new Chief started on the wrong foot. Not much is known about Lennox at this point, but it isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he won’t get along with Violet, at least initially. The Chief’s decision to solely decide on Firehouse 51’s new paramedic was already suspicious, and considering her friction with Violet, she may have purposely chosen Lennox to make her life more difficult.
Whether Lennox is just a temporary addition to Firehouse 51 is currently uncertain. Not all new characters introduced in Chicago Fire end up being series regulars. If theories about him having conflict with Violet come to fruition, it’s safe to say that the show will eventually have to say goodbye to him after the storyline. However, if he and the new PIC eventually develop a good rapport, then it will be interesting to see how their partnership will move forward.
