There isn’t a new episode of Chicago Fire tonight, Wednesday, March 12.
We start off with some bad news about Chicago Fire tonight, Wednesday, March 12. There isn’t a new episode of the series. The entire One Chicago lineup is off for the next couple of weeks.
This is purely a scheduling need. Once again, we’re at that point in the season where there are more weeks to fill than available episodes. The networks know that they need to space out the new episodes, or they need to delay the returns in January. While ABC opted to delay a few shows, NBC brought shows back as soon as possible, and that means more weeks off now.
What’s on tonight instead of Chicago Fire?
Well, we start with the first bit of good news. While there isn’t a new episode of the series, there is a rerun of Chicago Fire. You’ll want to tune in at 8 p.m. ET/PT instead, though. NBC is bringing us a rerun of the One Chicago crossover event from January 2025.
Like other crossover events, this one started with a Chicago Fire episode, switching around Fire and Med. The episode involved a gas explosion at a city building, but it turned out to be something much bigger and much more sinister. With some of Chicago’s finest lives on the line, it was all hands on deck to get to the bottom of the mystery and save the day.
When will Chicago Fire return with new episodes?
With this just being a break for scheduling purposes, there is more good news. We know when Chicago Fire will return with new episodes. We’ll get the next episode on Wednesday, March 26.
Yes, that means this break is a little longer than some of the others that we’ve had in the past few months. This will mean a string of episodes coming, with one of them involving the return of Wallace Boden. That episode will air in April before the next break arrives.
Chicago Fire returns on Wednesday, March 26 at 9/8c on NBC.
