Chicago Fire left fans stunned with its Nov. 12 cliffhanger, and according to star Jocelyn Hudon, the winter premiere will be just as intense.
The finale ended with Severide and Van Meter confronting a school principal targeted in an arson attack—only for a mysterious hooded figure to ignite a fire in the stairwell as the episode cut to black. Meanwhile, budget cuts forced Engine 51 offline, putting added pressure on Firehouse 51.
Hudon, who plays paramedic Lizzy Novak, tells PopCulture.com that when the show returns on Jan. 7, viewers should expect “a lot of suspense” and a “roller coaster” of tension. She also teased “more fires, more action, heights, and some very interesting firehouse dynamics.”
As for Novak’s personal arc, Hudon says Season 14’s back half brings “great love and trust moments,” and even she’s eager to see where the storyline goes.
Fans can catch new episodes starting Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC, with next-day streaming on Peacock.
