Private Practice alumna KaDee Strickland will recur during Season 13 of the NBC firefighter drama as Monica Pascal, the estranged wife of Dermot Mulroney’s character, TVLine has confirmed.
As TVLine previously reported, Mulroney is joining the cast in the series-regular role of Chief Dom Pascal, who comes to the Windy City from Miami, where he’s been a chief for a while, but he actually got his start with the Chicago Fire Department. His leadership style differs from that of the beloved Chief Wallace Boden.
The new boss takes over Firehouse 51’s top position from Boden, whose portrayer Eamonn Walker exited the NBC drama as a series regular in the Season 12 finale. In the episode, Boden was promoted to CFD’s Deputy Commissioner and then revealed that he wants Herrmann (played by David Eigenberg) to replace him at 51. But first, Herrmann needs to get promoted to captain and take the Battalion chief test, so the introduction of another chief makes sense for the time being.
In addition to starring on the Grey’s Anatomy spinoff Private Practice for six seasons, Strickland’s TV credits include the second installment of Freeform’s anthology series Cruel Summer (where she reunited with her Private Practice TV husband Paul Adelstein and TV stepson Griffin Gluck), Hulu’s Shut Eye and ABC’s Secrets and Lies.
Our sister site Deadline was first to report Strickland’s casting.
