Chicago Fire’s cast shakeup continues as actor Michael Bradway has joined the procedural for season 12.
Dick Wolf’s series has cast the Marked Men star in an undisclosed role. Following the official announcement, Bradway took to his Instagram to share the news with his followers.
“Got to be part of the Chicago Fire Family for season 12!” he wrote, adding a fire emoji. “Can’t wait for you guys to see it next week!”
As per Deadline, the newcomer is set to portray “charming firefighter” Jack Damon, making his Chicago Fire debut in episode 10 and potentially becoming a regular next season.
Bradway’s casting follows Rome Flynn’s shock exit after his six-episode stint as Jake Gibson.
The How to Get Away With Murder star left Chicago Fire earlier this month when his character left to receive help for his prescription pill addiction.
“Just like all the fans, I was sad to see Gibson leave. He was a character I very much enjoyed playing,” Flynn told Variety, leaving the door open on a possible return.
“I had a wonderful experience during my time on Chicago Fire and have great respect for the cast and crew and hope to team up with Dick Wolf again when the time is right.”
Chicago Fire also recently lost star Kara Killmer, who bowed out after 10 years in the role of Sylvie Brett.
Sylvie’s departure came when she and fire captain Matt Casey (Jesse Spencer) moved to Portland after getting married, with Killmer saying it has been “humbling and aspirational” playing a first responder for a decade.
Chicago Fire, Chicago PD and Chicago Med air on NBC and Peacock in the US, and on Sky Witness in the UK.
