In the penultimate episode of The Rookie Season 7, titled “Mutiny and the Bounty,” Lucy Chen awaits the results of her sergeant exam . Aside from the fact that it would be an excellent step for her career, passing the exam would give her the same rank as Tim. And if he were no longer her superior, the two could finally be together. They hint at this repeatedly throughout Season 7—and at the end of the episode, she actually gets a positive result.
Another surprise is that there really is a sergeant position available at the police station. The negative surprise: She has to work the night shift. To be continued… So, after Tim and Lucy (and I, and millions of other fans) have been eagerly awaiting the chance to finally be together, their completely contradictory biorhythms are sure to pose a problem.
