Charles L. quickly became a fan favorite on Joan Vassos’ season of The Golden Bachelorette. Unfortunately, he was recently eliminated, leaving Bachelor Nation viewers saddened to see him leave.
In a new episode of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast, Charles sat down with hosts Joe Amabile and Serena Pitt to share his thoughts on his time on the show. When Joe asked if he was surprised by his elimination, Charles revealed that he wasn’t. He explained, “I sensed it. I had a feeling it would be either this time or the next. I could see others growing closer, and I knew my time might be coming to an end.”
When asked by Serena if he felt sad about leaving, Charles acknowledged mixed emotions. “Yes, in some ways, it is sad,” he admitted. “But we, as cast members, support each other. In the end, Joan can only choose one gentleman, and I sensed I wasn’t going to be in the final group.”
Despite not finding love with Joan, Charles shared that they did build a friendship during their time together. He reflected, “From the first time I met Joan to the final hug when I didn’t receive a rose, we grew to like each other. But liking someone and being in love are two different things. I’m happy for her and wish her well in finding the one she truly loves.”
Serena asked if Charles had anticipated the outpouring of affection he received from fans. He was pleasantly surprised by the response, saying, “It’s definitely unexpected. I’ve received messages from so many wonderful fans, and I appreciate their support.”
As he wrapped up the interview, Charles expressed gratitude to his supporters. “I think some people wanted to see me continue, but the reality is that there’s someone out there Joan loves more than me. It’s a little sad, but I’m grateful for this journey and for all the love from Bachelor Nation.”
