Fire Country’s choice to remain with their main cast throughout the duration of the show thus far has been fascinating, especially for viewers who see other procedurals who are far less careful with their characters’ lives. Unfortunately, moving into Fire Country season 4, the series will be losing two of its main faces, one being a looming figure in the Leone family.
After the end of Fire Country season 3 left Vince, his wife Sharon Leone (Diane Farr), and his father Walter Leone (Jeff Fahey) looking for help as the Buena Vista building burned around them, it was clear that some tragedy was coming to the family. With Burke leaving Fire Country ahead of next season, Vince’s death seems imminent, but a trade-off could be a better idea.
Walter’s Death Is The Perfect Trade-Off To Saving Vince’s Life In Fire Country Season 4
Their Storyline Was Given Closure During The Season 3 Finale
Although Vince, Walter, and Sharon are all in danger in the dangerous Buena Vista fire, taking Vince’s life doesn’t seem like the optimal move for Fire Country from a story perspective. While it would certainly be one of the most tragic moments the series has ever had, Vince’s death would come with major complications, especially after how much his character has changed.
Why It’s Better For Fire Country To Keep Vince Alive (Despite Burke’s Exit)
His Departure Doesn’t Mean Vince Has To Die
Although it does make sense with Burke leaving to make a clean break for the Leone family on-screen and kill off Vince, the traumatic impact that losing him will cause isn’t worth the shock value. Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) losing his father after years of attempting to mend their complicated relationship will cause massive issues in his relationships, while Sharon losing her husband will cut deep.
Vince’s death will cause major ripple effects that, ultimately, Fire Country may not find themselves able to resolve throughout the next season and those beyond. Choosing to kill Vince off may cause the story to become far more complicated, as Bode, Sharon, and the rest of Edgewater have to cope with his passing. Instead, Fire Country could choose to have Vince simply exist off-screen.
