Following his long run on “NCIS: Los Angeles,” Chris O’Donnell is returning to television with “9-1-1 Nashville.”
The actor plays Captain Dan Hart, a strong-willed firefighter navigating high-stakes emergencies in the new drama series.
Taking the role meant relocating to Nashville, something O’Donnell described as both unexpected and exciting.
“After 14 years in L.A., it felt like a completely new adventure,” he told Extra. “A new city, a new cast, a new crew — it brought a fresh kind of energy.”
The move also came during a challenging time for his family, who had to leave their Pacific Palisades home for eight months after destructive wildfires swept through the area last year.
As he settled into Nashville, O’Donnell had help exploring the city thanks to his co-star LeAnn Rimes, a well-known figure in country music.
“It was great seeing her in her element,” he shared.
The show also required O’Donnell to take on something unfamiliar — playing a firefighter who also rides in rodeos, a world the actor hadn’t previously experienced.
