Bridgerton fans may have to prepare for even more Polin spice in Season 4. Nicola Coughlan teases what’s next for newcomer Penelope Bridgerton and her husband Colin (Luke Newton) on Netflix’s hit Shondaland.
While viewers won’t soon forget the famous carriage and mirror scenes from Bridgerton’s third season, is there room for more iconic Polin moments? It seems likely, as Coughlan acknowledged the attention being paid to Penelope and Colin’s romance earlier this year in a new interview with Time.
Of the mirror scene in which Colin pays tribute to his fiancée as they take their relationship to the next level, Coughlan said, “It’s very personal, but also scary because of the level of nudity. We wanted to do justice to the story and this beautiful moment where he makes her feel really loved and they’re vulnerable together. I’m very proud of that scene.”
According to Time, “the couple have more intimate moments in Season 4” and will also have the challenge of playing parents to a new baby on screen, which Coughlan called “so cute.”
Fans got a taste of this in the final moments of Season 3 when the new Lord Featherington was introduced and revealed Penelope and Colin’s new roles as heads of House Featherington with their son as the main heir.
What those intimate moments will be like beyond raising their children remains to be seen, but considering the more steamy moments that Season 2’s main couple Anthony (Jonathan Bailey) and Kate Bridgerton (Simone Ashley) shared in Season 3, it’s clear that there are plenty of possibilities. Possibilities. The more steamy moments aren’t just reserved for the main couple.
