Christmas is just around the corner, and the FBI team is getting prepared for the holidays. Unfortunately, before they get a much-deserved rest after the trials of Season 8 thus far, they have one more confounding case to solve. Next week will mark the premiere of the flagship procedural’s two-part Christmas storyline, with Episode 9, “Lone Wolf,” and Episode 10, “Wolf Pack,” airing across two hours on Monday night, December 15, on CBS. Ahead of the special event, Collider can exclusively share a new sneak peek from the first half that sets the stage for how a seemingly ordinary murder investigation can spiral into something far more sinister that threatens the entire city.
The logline for the episode teases that there is, indeed, a larger motive behind why these three men in particular were targeted. Upon finding the three women, the men identified dead in a brownstone, the team begins uncovering the deeper plot at play — one that puts all of New York in jeopardy. Sure enough, in “Wolf Pack,” things will take a disastrous turn when “an attack disrupts cell, internet, and emergency services.” As the city falls into chaos, the whole team is on the clock to find and shut down the culprits responsible, learning that a radical accelerationist group obsessed with resetting society is tied to the attack.
What Else Can Viewers Expect From the ‘FBI’ Two-Part Holiday Special?
If that weren’t enough stress for FBI in one week, Jubal will also have another reason to worry about his son, Tyler (Caleb Reese Paul). During the investigation, the veteran agent will get a concerning call from Tyler that will pull at least some of his attention away from the case. Their father-son dynamic was spotlighted last season when Jubal bent the rules to help his son out of custody at the potential expense of his career. Now, Tyler may be in even more trouble, and their relationship could be put to the test once again. Whatever the case, it looks to be an explosive midseason finale on both a personal and professional level for the whole team.
