‘Boston Blue’ Begins Filming! Donnie Wahlberg Teases Fresh Start With Powerful Message

Donnie Wahlberg celebrated the official start of the Blue Bloods spinoff, Boston Blue, by sharing a photo from the first table read.

Wahlberg, 55, took to his Instagram Stories to share of photo from Toronto, Ontario, which is where Boston Blue will be filmed. “A new day. A new city. A new opportunity. A new adventure. The same gratitude,” he captioned a photo of the skyline, which included the hashtag “thankful.”

One day later, Wahlberg confirmed that production had officially begun when he shared a photo from the first Boston Blue table read. He sat next to Sonequa Martin-Green, who plays the leading lady Lena Silver, during the table read.

“A new chapter,” he captioned the photo that showed the pilot’s script and his name plate, while he also added a blue heart emoji.

Boston Blue was announced on February 18 after the Blue Bloods series finale aired in December 2024.
