The Bold and the Beautiful recap for Friday, June 20 saw Taylor and Brooke politely get into it, Carter getting Deacon’s blessing…and a stern warning.
What You Missed Today On Bold and the Beautiful
Taylor (Rebecca Budig) was at the mansion on the phone with a patient when Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) arrived for papers for Eric (John McCook). To Brooke’s credit, she was very kind and even complimented Taylor and called her a healer. Taylor took the opportunity to check in with her about Nick’s (Jack Wagner) visit. Taylor prodded about Nick’s intentions and assumed he was there to win Brooke back. And, of course, she was right. Brooke wasn’t about to admit that, though.
What Brooke did admit was watching Ridge’s reaction to Nick being back and she let Taylor know he was bit by the jealousy bug. Taylor obviously didn’t love hearing that but what was she to do about it? Ridge and Brooke have history and nothing will change that. But, Ridge is with HER now and he’s committed to their love. As far as Taylor’s concerned, Brooke is his past and Taylor is his future.
The Ex Factor(s)
Meanwhile, at the office, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) had Carter (Lawrence Saint-Victor) sniff Daphne Rose’s (Murielle Hilaire) new fragrance and talked about needing her back…regardless of Hope’s feelings. Speaking of Hope, Carter wondered if his fiance would ever get her clothing line back. Once again, that idea was shot down. At least for now. The Forresters can forgive but they certainly can’t forget. They are allowing her back in the company, isn’t that enough for today? Well, it had to be because the Forresters have spoken and what they say goes!
Later, once alone, Steffy noticed Ridge was acting off. Very off. Ridge ranted about Nick being back in town and catching him with Brooke. Steffy jokingly asked if her dad was jealous and Ridge fumed. No, he’s not jealous. He would never ever be jealous (sure). He’s concerned. That’s different. He doesn’t want his brother hurting Brooke again.
Fatherly Advice
At the same time, Hope (Annika Noelle) was at the pizzeria showing Deacon (Sean Kanan) her ring and bragging about her engagement. Deacon wasn’t a fan and tried to gently talk his daughter out of marrying a man he didn’t like. After seeing how happy she was, Deacon relented and even agreed to walk her down the aisle when the day comes. However, he did want to remind her about Carter kissing Daphne Rose. He then had Hope text Carter and summon him to the restaurant.
Carter showed and wasn’t exactly welcomed warmly by Deacon. Carter played nice, though, intent on proving himself to his fiancés father. He understood Deacon’s hesitation and he understood his concerns, but he promised that he would be a good man to Hope now…and for the rest of his life. Deacon finally softened but issued a stern warning for Carter to watch himself. If he ever breaks Hope’s heart, there will be hell to pay!
