Blue Bloods Finale: How Will It All End?

Blue Bloods Finale: How Will It All End?

The Season 14 finale will be the Blue Bloods finale. What should you expect?

Summary:

– Blue Bloods Season 14 is the show’s finale, meaning it needs to tie together all storylines and character arcs.
– Most likely, Blue Bloods will take the traditional approach of giving a happy ending to everyone involved.
– Everyone will get a promotion, a family life, and a fulfilling career, and the show will end with a thank you to police officers.

Whichever one of the rivaling Blue Bloods fans groups you belong to and whether you like it or not, Season 14 is the grand finale of the show. For some, it’s a grief; for others, a relief; but it’s happening nonetheless. Theoretically, there are many ways for CBS to end the iconic police procedural, but practically, there are only so many finales fans will not hate — so we have a solid idea of what to expect.

Blue Bloods’ Most Likely Finale Tropes

Seeing how the Blue Bloods finale must bring closure to all characters and their storylines, their fates are likely set in stone for many. Starting with Henry Reagan, who peacefully passes away in his sleep, and Frank, who retires from the NYPD to take his father’s place as the Reagan patriarch and finally live for himself.

Mayor Garrett, being the Blue Bloods’ token antagonist, also retires. Well-off and a more pleasant person when away from his job, he indulges in writing his memoir. The Commissioner isn’t lined up immediately, but the show implies that it’s going to be either Jamie — or, perhaps, reveals it with a time jump into the future.

Everyone Gets Promoted and Teary-Eyed

In the finale, every major character gets a promotion, from Abigail Baker to Danny Reagan (though the latter would probably only be upgraded to Detective Lieutenant). Sid might as well become a Commissioner in Eastbridge. Erin gets back with Jack Boyle or finally gets the DA position outside the city’s limits… Or both, why not?

Eddie becomes a mother, aside from her promotion. Nicky finally gets fed up with her bleeding heart job and finds a new one; perhaps, she decides to follow through with her initial police dream. Another time jump shows that while Jamie takes over the Commissioner’s office after Frank, young Sean joins the police academy.

The last scene shows the Reagan family pictures in their house or Henry, Joe Sr., Mary, and Linda’s graves altogether as their loved ones visit them there. Blue Bloods ends with a fade-out and an on-screen text thanking the brave officers that risk and sacrifice their lives to protest their fellow citizens. Roll the credits.
