Blue Bloods fans say it’s time to end the show: ‘It’s getting too ridiculous’
Blue Bloods, once an unstoppable force in the world of police dramas, is starting to show signs of wear and tear. According to some disappointed fans, Season 13 hasn’t been kind to our favorite Reagans.
Fans scratched their heads and wondered, “What happened?” to what was once a powerful drama with compelling stories and compelling characters. Some people believe that the writing in Season 13 has lost its appeal. The plots are getting ridiculous and the characters we’ve known for over a decade are acting… well, out of character.
Consider our agility. For example, in the season 13 premiere storyline, Jamie is recovering from a shot to the gut as if he has supernatural healing powers. Or Eddie… Don’t get fans started on this unfortunate character – it’s as if there’s an endless stream of hatred for her.
Some fans believe that the Reagans have lost their way this season, even going so far as to call the show “too ridiculous.”
Of course, every TV show has its supporters.
Some fans argue that Blue Bloods continues to deal with real-world issues in a way that differentiates it from other police dramas. They say the film is not as melodramatic as other films in the same genre, such as The Rookie or 911.
And the good guys always win, with another family dinner to celebrate? For some people, that’s all the comfort they require.
The renewal of Blue Bloods for a 14th season, despite budget and salary cuts, has sparked a debate that is far from over.
“How much is too much?” some fans wondered, implying that the Reagans should hang up their badges.
But keep in mind that television history is full of cop dramas that have managed to maintain their appeal over the years. Is anyone watching Law & Order or NCIS? They did it and maybe the Blue Bloods can do it too. After all, some fans swear the show will continue until Tom Selleck rides off into the sunset.
So as Season 14 approaches, the question remains: Can the Blue Bloods recapture the magic that first drew us in? We’ll have to see what happens. Until then, we hope that our favorite NYPD family is back in action – and that the Writers Guild of America strike won’t hinder season 14 scripts anymore.
