‘Blue Bloods’ Fans Are Flipping Out Over the Return of a Favorite Character
Joe Hill was spotted in photos from the next new episode.
We’ve got one more week until Blue Bloods returns with new episodes, but this exciting news will help longtime viewers pass the time.
When season 13 resumes on January 6, a familiar face—Joe Hill (Will Hochman) will back on screen. Joe Hill has only appeared in 13 episodes of the show, but he remains a fan-favorite. The character returns as the grandson of Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck). Joe’s father, Joe Reagan, was killed in the line of duty.
Blue Bloods shared a behind-the-scenes photo from the next episode, showing Bridget Moynahan, who is directing the episode, interacting with Will Hochman and Tom Selleck.
Fans were so excited to see Will back on screen and left comments like, “Why is joe not a permanent character, we love him!!!!” “So happy to see Joe. What a great addition. More of his character please,” and “Yes!!!! Praying for more Joe and definitely some resolution after that conversation between him and Erin on the basketball court!”
CBS gives this description of the new episode, titled “Nothing Sacred”: “Reagan family tensions run high when Frank and his grandson, Joe Hill (Will Hochman), contend with a grievous insult to the memory of Joe’s father, Joe Reagan. Also, Erin and Henry work together to bust an over-the-phone scammer targeting the elderly; Danny intervenes in an undercover assignment led by his spiraling former partner; and Eddie’s captain takes suspicious interest in her efforts to locate a stolen puppy.”
In the photos, Joe and Frank seem to be investigating the desecration of Joe Reagan’s headstone at a cemetery.
We’ll have to wait another week to see how this pans out! There is no new episode of Blue Bloods on December 30. “Nothing Sacred” airs on CBS on January 6. Stream all 13 seasons on Paramount+.
