In one of the most intense Season 8 scripts of Chicago P.D., there was a sequence so brutal, it shocked even the actors — and was quietly removed before airing.
The scene showed Voight interrogating a corrupt officer accused of abusing civilians. It spiraled into an unrelenting confrontation in a dark storage room. Voight pulls his gun, not to kill — but to scare. But when the other man lunges, there’s a struggle, a gunshot, and blood everywhere.
The script was filmed. Jason Beghe reportedly struggled emotionally after shooting the scene, telling the crew, “That crossed something in me.”
Executives decided it went “too far.” The network ordered the scene removed from the final cut and replaced it with a calmer confrontation in the precinct hallway.
The original scene has never been released — but its ghost lingers among the cast and crew. A moment when Voight might have finally gone too far… and no one wanted to see it.
