As the season finale of FBI Season 7 draws closer, CBS is closing out the season with a bang. In an exclusive first look at the season finale, The Big Bang Theory’s Kevin Sussman is trading the quirky quips of comedy sitcoms for the thrill of federal investigations. Best known for his role as Stuart Bloom on the long-running CBS sitcom created by Chuck Lorre, Sussman steps into far more serious territory in what promises to be a tense close to the season.
The finale, titled “A New Day,” airs next Tuesday, May 20, and sees the team racing against time to prevent a deadly terrorist on home soil. The promo that aired after the penultimate episode of the season offers more information with a clip showing that there’s an imminent attack planned at 26 Fed, and there are operatives inside the FBI. Jubal (Jeremy Sisto) is involved in some sort of incident at a convenience store, and he shoves someone wearing an FBI jacket through the glass door?! The log line reads:
What Has Kevin Sussman Done Since ‘The Big Bang Theory’?
Sussman made his Big Bang Theory debut in the second season and appeared sporadically on the series until Season 7, when he was upped to a recurring cast and later in Season 8 to a series regular. The role remains his longest TV role to date. Since the series ended, Sussman has appeared in The Dropout, Call Me Kat, and Better Call Saul. He recently recurred as Walter Pine in the AppleTV+ historical drama miniseries Lessons in Chemistry, which starred Brie Larson, Lewis Pullman, and Aja Naomi King in the main roles. All series regulars on FBI are expected to return for the Season 7 finale, including the aforementioned stars as well as Missy Peregrym as Special Agent Maggie Bell, John Boyd as Special Agent Stuart Scola, Emily Alabi as Special Agent Dani Rhodes, and Alana De La Garza as Special Agent in Charge Isobel Castille.
