The show hasn’t officially been greenlit yet, so the show is likely at least a year away from actually being released. Fans shouldn’t expect to see new “The Big Bang Theory” spin-off before 2026 at the earliest.

“The Big Bang Theory” spin-off is under development at Max currently, so that’s where it will be most likely to stream when it comes out. Since the show isn’t in production yet, there’s the slight chance that it changes hands before it’s released, but viewers can probably count on it being released on Max eventually.

The new “Big Bang Theory” spin-off has cast several characters from the original show. An exclusive report from Deadline in February 2025 revealed that John Ross Bowie, who portrayed physicist and Sheldon Cooper foil Barry Kripke in the original series, is set to appear in the new show.

Also returning to the spin-off are Kevin Sussman as Stewart Bloom, Brian Posehn as Bert Kibbler, and Lauren Lapkus as Denise. All of these performers have signed talent holding deals with Warner Bros. Television to return if the show gets a greenlight.
