Season 4 is underway for Ghosts, the hit CBS series which first debuted in 2021. Amid the show’s fourth season, several of its stars addressed its longevity along with the possibility of Lin-Manuel Miranda making a special appearance.
At New York Comic Con, CBR’s Kevin Polowy discussed Ghosts Season 4 with four of the show’s cast members. Those interviewed include Rose McIver (Sam), Sheila Carrasco (Flower), Román Zaragoza (Sass), and Brandon Scott Jones (Captain Isaac Higgintoot). They spoke about joining the series and how it has since reached its fourth season. As for how long the series may go on from here, it was teased that they are willing to stick around for as long as fans continue to watch and enjoy the show.
“I think what I was excited by, as a story engine, I just think there’s so much room,” McIver said of what drew her to the show at the start. “I could see the longevity. Yeah, it was going to be a risk, and it’s not a simple project by any stretch, but I just think there’s so much room to explore.”
I could see the longevity.
She added, “There’s just so much to mine, and I think now we are fortunate enough to be four seasons into the show, we are really getting to do that, and we’re getting to look not just at where people come from, but how those histories influence the relationships and the dynamics they have in the house today, and that’s a luxury that you only get when you have enough episodes, and enough time with the story and with these characters. So, I feel really fortunate for that.”
“I was a big fan of BBC Ghosts, and so, when this came my way with the pilot script, which is so beautifully written, I had the feeling of, how has this show not been done before yet?” Carrasco then shared. “Because it seems like such a no-brainer, in a way, like a workplace comedy, but with people from literally different time periods. I was the opposite. I was like, ‘Oh, this is gonna go, oh, I need to book this.'”
Addressing how long the cast may continue to star in the show, Zaragoza teased, “I won’t speak for everyone else, but, as long as it will go. As long as people will watch it. I go to work every day, and I get to hang out with my friends, and I just laugh all day long, which has honestly been a dream. It continues to be a dream.”
Will There Be a Lin-Manuel Miranda Cameo in Ghosts?
Some fans have been wanting to see an appearance from Lin-Manuel Miranda in the show. Polowy asked the actors about the possibility of a cameo coming to be, but there’s no definitive answer they can provide beyond confirming their hopes that it will happen. In any case, they made it clear that Miranda is welcome to join them.
“I don’t know what the status of that is,” Jones said. “Yeah, I have no idea. You know what? Here’s the thing. I can go on Disney+ and watch Lin-Manuel play Hamilton all day long, and if [the cameo] doesn’t happen, then that will be just as great.”
Carrasco then noted, “Lin-Manuel, if you’re watching, please, come be on our show.”
Ghosts premieres new episodes on Thursdays on CBS at 8:30 p.m. ET.
