“Beyond a Special Occasion”: The £441 Dinner That’s Dividing Fans of Gordon Ramsay qc01

Food reviewer Gary Hanna, known as Gary Eats, recently visited Restaurant Gordon Ramsay in Chelsea, London, to experience its acclaimed three Michelin star dining. The restaurant has held this prestigious rating since 2001, renowned for dishes like lobster ravioli and roast veal flatbread. Gary opted for the set three-course menu priced at £180 per person.
Gary praised the restaurant’s attention to detail, noting the “gorgeous” floral arrangements outside and the “perfect” music inside. His meal began with mozzarella bites, described as “incredibly light” with a touch of black truffle. He also sampled the beef tartare, which he found to be of “super high-end quality”.
Despite enjoying the meal, Gary was taken aback by the total bill of £441.60 for two, including a 15 per cent service charge. He remarked that such a dining experience is suited for “beyond a special occasion”. While he awarded the restaurant a nine out of ten, he still favours Gordon’s Pétrus restaurant in London. Would you consider dining at such a high-end restaurant for a special occasion?
