Beloved TV Star Returns to Hit Series: ‘Forever Grateful’ for Comeback Opportunity

Kelly Thiebaud has confirmed she is returning to US soap General Hospital.

The star portrayed the role of Britt Westbourne in the show on and off from 2012-2023.

The character, however, was killed by a serial killer and died from a poisonous hook, leaving many fans wondering how the star is actually returning. Also at the time of her death, Britt was showing signs of Huntington’s disease.

It’s possible Kelly will be playing a different character, or a classic soap twist will be delivered and Britt will be returning from the dead.

In 2022, Kelly picked up a Daytime Emmy for her role as Britt in the show.

Taking to Instagram to confirm her return, Kelly revealed that she is thrilled to head back to her old home.

‘To get the chance to do it all again, and do it better than before, I will be forever grateful to ABC, Frank Valentini and all of my General Hospital family’, she wrote in a Stories post.Kelly’s return will come as welcomed news for General Hospital fans, as the show recently killed off popular character Sam McCall.

Sam’s final storyline saw her agree to donate her liver to Lulu Spencer (previously Emme Rylan), who has been in an off-screen coma for the past four years.

While the transplant was a success, Sam later crashed and died after getting engaged to Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna). Sam’s exit was announced in August, and was met with a backlash from fans amid reports Kelly was shocked to learn her character was being written out.
