Photographer Brad Everett Young, known for dozens of unique photo shoots starring actors from General Hospital, Days of our Lives, and more, has died at age 46.
Remembering Young
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Young was in a car crash on the night of September 14 when a vehicle going the wrong direction hit his. Young’s publicist, Paul Christensen, told THR that Young was driving alone and died on impact from his injuries.
Young’s portfolio spanned dozens of celebrities, including soap stars. GH and DOOL alum Jen Lilley mourned her friend on Instagram, saying, “The man who just took this photo is dead. I woke up in shock and disbelief. I was sure it was a rumor. @bradley206 was one of my dearest friends.”
GH’s Chris McKenna (Jack Brennan) also remembered the photographer. On X, he wrote, “I’m in complete shock. We just did a shoot a couple weeks ago and we texted this weekend. Brad was such a talented, funny, warm, caring guy. He donated his time, his talent, he raised money for underserved schools and the world is darker today without his light. Rest easy, bud.”
In a reply, McKenna wrote, “He took that Graceland photo I just posted.”
GH’s Parry Shen (Brad) shared a slew of photos on his official Facebook page, including some from his and former co-star Ryan Carnes’ (ex-Lucas) photo shoot, to remember Young. “Brad Everett Young was one of the kindest & generous people I have ever met. But the one trait that made him truly stand out in this business often filled with cynicism, was his indomitable positivity.”
Some of Young’s most beloved photos were shared on his Instagram, including one of GH’s Sprina, Tabyana Ali and Nicholas Alexander Chavez, and DOOL’s Chandler Massey (Will).
Young was also the founder of Dream Loud Official, a foundation dedicated to restoring music and arts in schools. Several soap stars backed the initiative, including Justin Hartley (ex-Adam, The Young and the Restless) and Sean Carrigan (ex-Stitch, Y&R).
Soap Hub sends heartfelt condolences to Young’s family, friends, and fans during this time.
