Jacob isn’t the same either.
Love at first bite. Bella and Edward’s love story always seemed fairly straightforward in Twilight. Bella was drawn to Edward’s mysterious nature and Edward became slightly obsessed with Bella after realizing he couldn’t read her mind. They were star-crossed lovers: Vampire and human.
But, Twilight series author Stephenie Meyer revealed that her new book, Midnight Sun, is told from Edward’s point of view and therefore will show a different side of Bella and Jacob. “Edward comes across as very confident and sure of himself in Twilight,” she told Us Weekly. “I think readers will be surprised by his level of constant anxiety. While in Twilight, we got to see all of Bella’s second-guessing and hesitation, from Edward’s point of view Bella comes across as very serene and self-possessed.”
Because the story is told from Edward’s POV, it will alter how we perceived the love triangle. The publisher described the new take on the popular series as an “unforgettable tale” with a “decidedly dark twist. “
After the book’s release, fans have been comparing the differences between Midnight Sun and Twilight.
Stephenie also shed some light on how the perception of Jacob will change. “We only get a few glimpses of Jacob from Edward’s perspective, but I think readers will be surprised by Edwards reaction to him,” she said, adding that it’s a “much darker story.”
The big question now is “Will there be a Midnight Sun movie?” Kristen Stewart (who plays Bella) was asked if she’d ever return for another movie. “Oh, yeah sure,” she replied with a laugh. She added, “Yes, absolutely. Honestly. Start sending scripts my way. Let’s start building this.” Okay, she miiiight have been being sarcastic, but there also might be a slight chance that the cast could return for a sixth movie.
Now, excuse me while I run to the nearest bookstore.
