Three actors who played roles on The Big Bang Theory prequel series, Young Sheldon, have an unexpected connection prior to appearing on the hit CBS show, which ran for seven seasons from 2017 to 2024.
Fans of Young Sheldon would be surprised to know about the actor’s connection outside of the show that goes back almost three decades.
Annie, who played Connie ‘Meemaw’ Tucker on 139 episodes of the spinoff, also played Bo Peep in Toy Story in 1995, Toy Story 2 in 1999, and Toy Story 4 in 2019. The 72-year-old was not in the third installment of the animated series.

Speaking with Variety in June 2019, 10 years after her last appearance in the Pixar franchise, the actress said, “I was invited back in November 2014, and I honestly didn’t realize how big my role would be until I saw a screening about six weeks ago.” Bo Peep takes on a major role in the fourth film that goes beyond being Woody’s love interest.
She went on to say, “We had a script, but it kept evolving, and I never saw a whole script. None of us did. So I was clueless. And then, of course, when I saw it, I was gobsmacked.”
Wallace Shawn, who played Dr. John Sturgis on Young Sheldon for 53 episodes, also voiced the clumsy dinosaur toy Rex in all the Toy Story movies. The 81-year-old is also known for his roles in the cult classic films The Princess Bride and Clueless.
Richard Kind played a smaller role in the CBS original series, with a three-episode arc as Ira Rosenbloom. The 68-year-old, who was recently featured on the hit Hulu original series Only Murders in the Building, played the Bookworm in Toy Story 3.
While Young Sheldon ended in 2024, Toy Story 5 is set to hit theaters in 2026, with Annie and Wallace reprising their roles as Bo Peep and Rex.
