In a delightful surprise for fans of The Big Bang Theory and Young Sheldon, Jim Parsons and Iain Armitage, who have both played Sheldon Cooper at different stages of life, recently reunited for a special reason.
Jim is currently starring in the Broadway revival of Our Town, playing the Stage Manager. On October 3, just a week before the official opening night, Iain made a special trip to New York to support his fellow Sheldon, attending a preview performance. After the show, he visited Jim backstage and shared the moment on Instagram, where he couldn’t stop praising Jim’s incredible performance.
“I know you’ll think I’m biased, but that’s not why I loved seeing Our Town,” Iain wrote in his post. “Yes, @therealjimparsons is excellent, and so is the rest of the cast. This play is so simple yet full of depth and meaning. I only had a couple of days in NY, but I saw this twice and might see it a third time. It’s beautiful and perfect.”
When fans saw the reunion between the two Sheldon Coopers, they couldn’t contain their excitement. One fan commented, “Sheldon Cooper and Sheldon Cooper,” while another reminisced, “I remember you were so little when you first met him 😭.” A different fan added, “The best in the field of acting, in my opinion 🔥.”
For those who don’t know, before starring in Young Sheldon, Iain was actually a young theater critic. His love for theater is reflected in his social media handle, @IainLoveTheatre, a nod to his early days of sharing thoughts on musicals and plays.
While Jim and Iain never shared the screen, this touching reunion of the two Sheldon Coopers offstage has definitely tugged at fans’ heartstrings!
