Despite Kaley Cuoco’s long-running success on The Big Bang Theory, her fiancé Tom Pelphrey has a surprising confession: he’s never seen the show.
Cuoco, who starred as Penny for 12 seasons, revealed the detail during a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show. She explained that Pelphrey wasn’t familiar with the sitcom when they first started dating.
Things got a little awkward when Cuoco met Pelphrey’s family, as his mother’s partner kept calling her “Penny” throughout the day. Pelphrey initially thought his mom had mixed up her name — until Cuoco explained that Penny was her famous TV character.
Even now, Pelphrey still hasn’t watched the show that made Cuoco a TV star.
The actress is currently leading the mystery drama Vanished, where she plays a woman whose partner disappears while traveling in Paris. Cuoco admitted filming on an actual train was difficult due to her claustrophobia.
Cuoco and Pelphrey met in 2022, got engaged in 2024, and share a young daughter. The actress recently shared that they sleep in separate rooms because of different schedules — a setup she says works well for their relationship.
