The Bachelor’s Hannah Ann Sluss has revealed which former contestant she thinks should be the leading leady in the show’s rumoured spin-off.
After the success of The Golden Bachelor, which followed senior bachelor Gerry Turner, 72, on his hunt for a new lover among 22 women who were aged 50+, fans have been calling for another Bachelor spin-off, this time female led and called The Golden Bachelorette.
Speaking about the potential leading lady for the spin-off, Hannah said she’d love to see Leslie Fhima return after making it to the final stages of The Golden Bachelor. Unfortunately, she lost Gerry’s heart to his new fiance, Theresa Nist.
Hannah said: “I would love it to be Leslie, just because I know her and I’m rooting for her love story,” but she admitted that sometimes producers “throw you for a loop and they won’t use someone on the past season.”
She told The U.S. Sun: “I know in the past with The Bachelor, they brought out some other people or one of the bachelors who no one knew, no one was invested… or haven’t seen their heartbreak.
“The drama is definitely different because just they’re in a different phase of life, but for me, the dating and the love aspect of it came across very genuine and sincere,” Hannah said of the senior spin-off. “And it kind of gave you a newfound hope that these couples could actually last.”
Although ABC is yet to officially confirm whether or not they will pursue the idea of a Golden Bachelorette, podcaster and king of spoilers Reality Steve has revealed some insider information which indicates the series is in the works.
According to him, the television network is hoping to film the highly anticipated series during the spring of 2024. During an episode of Reality Steve’s ‘Daily Roundup’ podcast, he claimed The Golden Bachelorette would follow the new season of its sister show, The Bachelorette: “I think we’re going to get a ‘Bachelorette’ season in March like we usually do, and then a ‘Golden Bachelorette’ following it… Seemingly that’s what people want,” he explained, adding it would probably be at least two or three months before the series is officially confirmed.
The infamous blogger expects The Bachelorette to follow its usual filming schedule from March until early May, and then the production team will immediately jump into filming the debut season of the ‘golden’ version. He went on to speculate who would be chosen to star as the show’s leading lady.
Although no firm decisions have been made, fans have been rallying for their favourite women from Gerry Turner’s season to return to the spotlight. Reality Steve weighed in on who he thought would be the perfect fit – putting his money on either Faith Martin (who came in third place) or finalist Leslie Fhima.
Speaking on his podcast, the sleuthing Steve said: “Look, the only reasonable person it would make sense for, at least one of two people if they’re gonna go the route they always do for ‘Bachelor’ and ‘Bachelorette,’ which is [to] choose someone from the previous season, the only two that make sense, really, are Faith or Leslie.”
