Baby Bombshells, Career Crossroads & One Last Kiss: Inside the Explosive Chicago Fire Season 13 Finale

Warning: Spoilers ahead for the Chicago Fire Season 13 finale — you’ve been warned!

#Stellaride’s Stunning Surprise

Chicago Fire wrapped up Season 13 with heart, heat, and a jaw-dropping twist for one of its most beloved couples. After a touching storyline involving a teen named Natalie—who falsely claimed Stella Kidd was her guardian—Stella and Severide helped reunite the girl with her sister. But the biggest shock came later.

In a tender, quiet moment, Stella revealed a positive pregnancy test, whispering to Kelly: “We’re pregnant.” The joy, the tears, and Severide’s over-the-moon reaction gave fans the kind of moment they’ve waited seasons for. Baby fever has officially arrived at Firehouse 51.

Violet and Carver: Kiss or Goodbye?

Meanwhile, sparks flew—and then burned out—for Violet and Carver. After Violet left a heartfelt letter on his windshield, Carver responded by announcing he had applied for a job in Denver, seeking a fresh start.

“I hope you find what you need there,” Violet told him, heartbroken.

Just when it seemed the romance had ended, Carver returned in dramatic fashion, showing up at Violet’s door with a kiss and a confession: “I love you.” She said it back. But with Jake Lockett (Carver) not returning as a series regular in Season 14, the couple’s future remains uncertain.

Major Moves at Firehouse 51

The episode also saw big changes within the firehouse. Pascal was cleared of all charges—thanks to a dark twist revealing Lieutenant Vale as the real culprit in the driver’s death. And Herrmann, who tried his hand at a desk job, realized his true place is on the front lines. He stepped down so that longtime friend Mouch could take over as Engine’s lieutenant.

It’s a heartfelt reset for one of the show’s most loyal characters—and a fresh chapter for Firehouse 51.

Looking Ahead to Season 14

Executive producer Andrea Newman teased that Chicago Fire Season 14 will build on these emotional shifts. With a baby on the way for Stella and Severide, Carver’s uncertain future, and Herrmann’s return to action, the firehouse is heading into uncharted territory.

Although Daniel Kyri (Ritter) won’t return full-time, fans can rest easy knowing his character is still part of the One Chicago universe and will appear throughout the season.
