Jesse Palmer has reacted to the news of Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist announcing their divorce after just three months of marriage in a direct Instagram post.
After being there through all the ups and downs during Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist’s Golden Bachelor journey, host Jesse Palmer has addressed the pair’s decision to get divorced.
The Bachelor franchise host, 45, took to Instagram on Friday to weigh in on the upsetting news.
Jesse uploaded a snap of the pair from The Golden Bachelor finale, in which Theresa cuddled up to him proudly flashing her engagement ring as Gerry smiled next to them.
“My heart is forever with these two beautiful souls,” his message began, as he expressed: “I am eternally grateful to have gotten to know Gerry and Theresa and to have been a small part of their journey.
“I learned a lot about life, love and family watching and talking with them,” Jesse admitted, referring to their time together on the hit ABC show.
He concluded the message writing: “Wishing them and their families both nothing but happiness.”
While the estranged couple didn’t acknowledge Jesse’s kind words, Gerry’s daughter Angie did.
In the comment section, Angie penned: “Thank you Jesse! It’s a hard situation and we all appreciate your comments because you actually knew them. You are the best.”
Elsewhere in the comment section, fans were also quick to dish out their thoughts on the shock split.
One fan shared: “Sad news indeed. I think the show shouldn’t put pressure on the couples to get engaged. They should be able to date each other in real life and see how they fit into their lives without having the added pressure to propose and make a long-term commitment. People can find their person and go from there…..”
A second fan echoed: “I wish them both the best, and I’m sad for them both that things did not work out!”
Another added: “I don’t understand why they didn’t talk about their living situation before they got engaged let alone married.”
Meanwhile, one user fumed: “Fastest wedding and divorce in Bachelor history. We all knew she wasn’t going to move. She probably expected him to move. At least Faith was upfront about not wanting to leave her family and horses. It was obvious this wasn’t going to work.”
The strong fan reaction comes on the heels of Gerry, 72, and Theresa Nist, 70, announcing their divorce after three months of marriage during a Friday appearance on Good Morning America.
The pair, who live in different states, explained that they ultimately broke up because they couldn’t agree on where to put down roots but still have love for one another.
“Theresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations,” the former restauranteur said during their segment.
“We’ve looked closely at our living situations and we’ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it’s time for us to dissolve our marriage.
“The things that strike me the most in our conversations have been how dedicated both of us are to our families. So, we look at these situations and I think we just feel like it’s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart,” he added.
