All About Bridgerton Season 4 Star Yerin Ha Landing the role of Bridgerton’s main love interest this season is a surefire way to gain international recognition and boost an actress’ career like few other TV shows can. Think Phoebe Dynevor (Season 1), Simone Ashley (Season 2) and Nicola Coughlan (Season 3). One Australian actress is about to get a taste of that fame after being cast as Sophie Baek, previously known only as The Lady in Silver, in the Netflix period drama.
In Season 4, the Cinderella-inspired Sophie, who works as a maid for the toughest boss in Ton, wins the heart of Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson) at a masquerade ball and begins what we expect to be a season-long cat-and-mouse romance, will they/won’t they?
“What attracted me to Sophie was that she immediately had an obstacle — something she was constantly having to overcome,” Ha told Netlix’s Tudum. “Whether it was a battle over social status or trying to hide her feelings for Benedict.”
While fans have been waiting years to see who would play Benedict’s love interest, Ha revealed that her journey on the show wasn’t all that long, telling E! News, “The funny thing is that everything happened so fast. It was like 10 days from my first audition to hearing that I got the part, so emotionally, it was a roller coaster.”
Speaking of the emotional rollercoaster, the 29-year-old actress also revealed a bit about what fans can expect to see from the season’s newest leading man, telling TV Insider, “It’s funny because there’s a scene, and I actually said to Luke, ‘You’re giving Darcy [from Pride and Prejudice] vibes, 100 percent…’ I don’t think the showrunners were thinking that, but for me, I’m thinking Pride and Prejudice.”
Like the character she plays, not much is known about Ha, who only made her on-screen debut five years ago. Read on to learn more about her.
