While promoting her Netflix film My Secret Santa, the Virgin River star shared a cherished tradition she’s carried from childhood into motherhood: letting her kids open one gift on Christmas Eve—a ritual her own mom started years ago.
Speaking with People, Breckenridge revealed that her daughter Billie and son Jack now try the same playful persuasion she once did, hoping to unwrap more than just one present early. She and her husband, Casey Cooper, carefully choose which gifts get the Christmas Eve honor.
This year, the holiday magic is extra special. Along with gifts from Santa and grandparents, the family has planned a surprise trip to Disney World. For Breckenridge, creating that sense of wonder is what matters most—she says making Christmas magical for her kids is the greatest joy of all.
