Alexandra Breckenridge is still surprised by the success of Virgin River.
The actress, who has played Mel Monroe since the Netflix drama debuted in 2019, recently admitted she never imagined the series would last beyond its first season. At the time, she believed the show might follow the same short-lived path as many early streaming projects.
Instead, Virgin River has grown into one of Netflix’s most reliable hits, now seven seasons strong following its March 12 Season 7 release.
Breckenridge said she feels deeply grateful for the stability the role has provided, especially during a challenging period for actors across the industry. She also revealed she continues to be surprised by how wide the show’s audience has become, recalling unexpected encounters with fans in everyday situations.
Beyond her on-screen role, Breckenridge remains passionate about health awareness and recently supported the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women campaign, hoping to encourage more women to prioritize preventive care. ❤️
