Ahead of Season 4, Netflix Delivers Major Announcement About Bridgerton’s Future

Netflix has announced big news for fans of Bridgerton. Ahead of the show’s fourth season coming next year, it’s been revealed that there will be much more of the series to come.

On Wednesday, Netflix made the news official that Bridgerton has been renewed for an additional two seasons, Seasons 5 and 6, continuing the show well past its previous renewal for Season 4. The news was announced with a letter written by Lady Whistledown touting the exciting update. The letter also encourages fans to prepare for the return of the show in 2026 when Season 4 premieres. Needless to say, it was a very exciting day for Bridgerton fans.

“Dearest Gentle Reader,” the letter begins. “Rarely is this author granted the opportunity to share with you such information. It is with great pleasure I can announced Bridgerton shall return for Seasons 5 and 6. Do celebrate accordingly.”

It continues, “And in the meantime, do prepare yourselves, for Bridgerton Season 4 shall debut in 2026. It would seem this author is going to be quite busy.”

Season 4 will pick up with Benedict (Luke Thompson) after he encounters a “Lady in Silver,” Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha) at his mother’s masquerade ball. The cast of the new season will also include Jonathan Bailey, Victor Alli, Adjoa Andoh, Julie Andrews, Lorraine Ashbourne, Simone Ashley, Masali Baduza, Nicolas Coughlan, Hannah Dodd, Daniel Francis, Ruth Gemmell, Florence Hunt, Maritns Imhangbe, Claudia Jessie, Luke Newton, Katie Leung, Michelle Mao, Emma Naomi, Golda Rosheuvel, Hugh Sachs, Til Wilston, Polly Walker, and Isabella Wei.

Jess Brownell will serve as showrunner for the fourth season. It is being executive produced by Shonda Rhimes, Betsy Beers, Tom Verica, and Chris Van Dusen.

Season 4 Is Coming in 2026

Per Netflix, Season 4 will turn “its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down — until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver (Ha’s Sophie) at his mother’s masquerade ball.”

This continues the show’s impressive run as one of the most popular titles available to watch on Netflix. According to viewership data, the show is only getting more beloved, likely leading to the supersized renewal a year ahead of Season 4. The third season saw a spike in viewership compared to Season 2 to the tune of 13%. It remains to be seen if additional seasons will continue to see significant bumps, but in any case, fans can be assured that the show is only halfway through its run, at the least, with no less than three seasons on the way.
