Ageless Icon: ‘Three’s Company’s’ Joyce DeWitt, 76, Earns “Still So Beautiful” Praise from Fans

Rarely-Seen ’70s Sitcom Star, 76, Is ‘Still So Beautiful’ in New Video

She’s one of the most beloved TV actresses of all time.

As one-third of the goofball platonic threesome at the heart of the classic sitcom Three’s Company, Joyce DeWitt — otherwise known as Janet — was one of the most instantly recognizable and beloved faces on TV in the ’70s and ’80s. So fans were thrilled to see the actress talking about her iconic role in a recent video, especially because she weighed in on the “will they or won’t they” dynamic between Janet and roommate Jack Tripper (played by the late John Ritter).

In a video shared to TikTok, DeWitt, 76, revealed that while she always knew fans hoped Janet and Jack’s relationship would take a turn for the romantic at some point, she didn’t know there was a special term for the potential love connection.

“I can’t tell you how many people have said to me, ‘How come Jack and Janet didn’t get together? But I didn’t know they called us ‘Jacket.’ That’s a new one,” she joked.

Fans in the comments couldn’t get over DeWitt’s youthful appearance and energy.

“She looks wonderful,” gushed one person, with another adding, “Still so beautiful.”

“I was in love with Janet!” somebody admitted.

“Janet is forever young in my mind,” declared someone else.

Just as DeWitt’s fans haven’t forgotten about her in the decades since Three’s Company went off the air in 1984 after eight successful seasons, she’s still thinking about the show’s loyal viewers. In an interview with Us Weekly in September 2024, the actress opened up about the sitcom’s appeal for young fans in particular.

“It was a ‘time out’ from the oppressive, challenging, difficult circumstances they were navigating in their young lives,” she explained, adding, “And, oh by the way, they say the characters also did stupid, crazy stuff that made them laugh. But it was the love, trust and support of the characters, one to the other, that made them lifelong fans.”

DeWitt is the last surviving member of the famous “three,” as Suzanne Somers died in October 2023 at age 76 and Ritter died in September 2003 at the age of 54.
